Since its launch in the market in 1987, Camry has always been a favorite and best selling mid -sized family car in America. The 2009 Toyota Camry is launched in the market in eight interesting models in four different trims, the base, the top favorite LE, the SE and the most luxurious XLE. There is a Hybrid version also in the present line-up. This line up represents the second year of the nameplate's sixth generation. Engine
The Camry models get their life from the 2.4-liter four-cylinder that delivers 158 horsepower and 161 pound-feet of torque. This is the standard engine for all low level Camry models. The four-cylinder engine is certified with Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV) in most countries. This engine is mounted on a five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic. The four-cylinder XLE is the only Camry model that comes with automatic transmission only. Fuel economy for this engine configuration is 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg highway. For those who want a faster Camry, there is another power engine to consider. It is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that gives 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic is standard on all V6 models. Fuel economy is rated at 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
